Amazonian Timber

Our reforestation plan includes interplanting a variety of Amazonian hardwood and faster growing native timber species with fruit trees.  Although we oppose cutting old growth trees, we actively harvest fallen and dying trees, as well as some that need to be removed in order to provide space and light for other growing trees.  The species we plant for future income and building materials are primarily from the Lauraceae, Lecythidaceae, Meliaceae, and Rubiaceae families.  Some are pictured below.
